Europäischer Jugendgipfel in Graz: 

EU-Future Generation: 50 Years of Experience as Motivation for Future Steps

Das Europazentrum Graz veranstaltete kürzlich zum 11ten Mal in Kapfenberg / Obersteiermark ein Europäisches Jugendtreffen mit ca. 60 TeilnehmerInnen aus Deutschland, Italien, Polen, Spanien, Tschechien, Türkei und Österreich.
Das Jugendtreffen an sich feierte dieses Jahr sein nun 25 jähriges Bestehen und kann somit auf eine lange Erfolgsgeschichte zurückblicken. Das diesjährige Jugendtreffen stand unter dem Motto: „EU-Future Generation: 50 Years of Experience as Motivation for Future Steps" und befasste sich mit dem hochaktuellen Thema der grundsätzlichen Entwicklung der Europäischen Union im nächsten Jahrzehnt.
Besprochen wurden dabei auch die letzten 50 Jahre der EU, um die Fehler der Vergangenheit vermeiden zu können und die großartigen Errungenschaften dieser Epoche für das 21. Jahrhundert fit zu machen.

Equipping Europe's schools for the 21st century: the European Commission begins a public consultation

On July 12th the European Commission launched a public consultation entitled "Schools for the 21st Century". Based on eight key questions, the consultation seeks views about the development and modernisation of school education in the Member States. The objective is to identify those areas where joint action at the European Union level could effectively support the Member States in their own school modernisation efforts. The consultation will be available in all official languages and is open to stakeholders and the general public, including teachers', parents' and pupils' associations. It will be open until 15 October 2007.

The EUNET project Waves of Democracy has now its own website.

At www.wavesofdemocracy.eu you could find all information on the development and results of this international youth project. 

With its own channel "EUtube" on the video-portal "YouTube" the European Union is taking a new way to inform its citizens about Europe.
